Words For Praise T-Shirt (With Definitions)

"Yadah, Tehillah, Barak, Towdah, Zamar, Shabach & Hallal."

These are the 7 most common Hebrew words for praise. Each of these words have POWERFUL meanings, but what I love most about them is that they reveal what, more so who worship is all about. Jesus. It’s not about how good we sound, or how perfectly we can raise our hands, it’s about giving everything to Him, because He is worthy. I want this shirt to be a reminder of this. 

This collection is inspired, by Isaiah 61:3:

“To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.” 

Instead of heaviness, He gives us garments of praise! What does it look like to be clothed in praise? What does it look like for Him to turn our ashes into beauty, our mourning into joy & our spirit of heaviness into a spirit of praise. Well, I believe this is what God is doing in the earth right now. He is releasing a spirit of praise & we get to partner with Him! Friends, we were created to worship. You were born knowing how to adore, how to exalt & how to cry out. When you see Him you cannot help but worship Him and love Him. When you look at Jesus, you see how worthy He is & you want to give everything. There is a worship movement arising; a generation of laid down wild worshippers & lovers of Jesus. This is what I wanted to express through this collection. It’s all about Jesus. ⁃ Keely Hughes
